Experiencing Münster

Concerning your leisure time, Münster offers a wide range of possibilities. Whether alone, in pairs or with family – a visit to the most livable (and adorable) city is always a highlight.

Below you will find some suggestions for your trip:

Sightseeing Tours
Indulge yourself to an interesting sightseeing tour by the “ Münsterbus ”. Find out about paths and combined tickets and lots more.

Prinzipalmarkt
The ensemble of gabled houses with arched arcades mould the Prinzipalmarkt - the oldest market street of Münster and the heart of the city. Since ca. 1280 the row houses form the elongated, closed square. Having been destroyed during World War II, the houses were rebuilt in the old style.

Saint Paul’s Cathedral
For many centuries, the Saint Paul’s Cathedral Paulusdom formed the centre of the Cathedral in the heart of the city of Münster. The Cathedral was antlered in 1264 by Apostle Paul.

Town Hall
After having been destroyed during World War II, both town hall and peace hall of the middle of the 14th century were rebuilt to its original design in the 1950s. From 1643 onwards, the peace hall (included in the town hall) was the venue for negotiations regarding the Treaty of Westphalia.

Weekly market
The weekl market (Wednesdays and Saturdays 07:00 – 14:30 h) taking place on the Cathedral square is one of the most charming markets. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of this wonderful market.

Carnival
The funfair at the castle square is both fair and carnival. Ca. 250 showmen set up carousels and funfair booths in front of the baroque setting of the Münster Castle three times a year.

Childcare in the Maxi Tower
You would like to go shopping, to a museum or to the market – yet your child prefers the playground? Just take advantage of the childcare in the Maxi-Tower right in the city centre. Children from 4 to 10 years of age will be looked after by qualified caregivers. So you will have up to three hours to explore Münster and to know your child also has a good time.
